Cairde
Cairde is the name given to the parents association. We meet in the school on the second Monday of the month at 8pm. We discuss (in english) upcoming events and issues affecting the children. Most of our time and energy is spent in raising much-needed funds for the school. Every parent is welcome at the meetings and it is an invaluable opportunity to find out first-hand, what is happening in your child's school.

Events that Cairde organises/give assistance with:
Cairde sponsored prizes for the competition organised in conjunction with "An tseachtain Bia Folláin" and provided fruit for the fruit tasting day
Cairde assists with Seó na Nollag, organises the post-communion party, the teas following the sixth class mass,supplies refreshments following other school meetings during the year and helps with supervision at the St. Patrick's Day parade to mention but a few. Cairde organises and helps with the new and secondhand book sale in the school each June. Cairde also assists with the bi-annual Book Fair in the school held in November.
Some of our contributions to the school
So far, we have contributed televisions, books, art supplies, computers, software, musical instruments, CD Players, Painting racks,Learning support resources etc. Sports jerseys were donated to the school by Mace and Sifco. Cairde also assists by contributing to the costs of buses to events during the year and last year we sponsored the céili band to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge. Cairde sponsors the prizes for our annual Lá Spóirt. We presented certs to the first communion and confirmation classes last year.
Wish List
We need to raise money for the following:
- Laptops and Software
- Annual art/resources grant to each teacher.
- Fully equipping an extra classroom
- Funding of a project for use in the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
- Refreshments for Communion teas and other occasions throughout the year.
- Provision of prizes for La Spórt
- Subsidisation of buses to swimming lessons,sciath na scol etc.
- Other needs that may arise during the school year.
